Mohamed Isa, leadership keynote speaker and former CFO

The Speaker

Mohamed Isa energizes audiences worldwide with heart-moving stories and performance-driving strategies. Known for his dynamic style and relatable storytelling, he delivers experiences that stay with audiences long after the applause fades.

As an award-winning keynote speaker, Amazon bestselling author, and former CFO, Mohamed bridges the worlds of business and inspiration with effortless credibility. He has delivered more than 330 speeches and workshops on six continents, including at Google in the United States. Fluent in Arabic and English, he connects with audiences across cultures, empowering leaders and teams to think higher, act faster, and achieve more.

The Executive

At 26, Mohamed became the youngest CFO in the Gulf, at an investment bank listed on the Bahrain and Kuwait stock exchanges. Over eleven years in the role, reporting to three chairmen and five CEOs, he helped secure the bank’s investment license from the Central Bank of Bahrain and steered a balance sheet above USD 500 million through an IPO, a USD 43 million rights issue, and more than USD 350 million in exits, equity, and debt financing.

Before that, at Unilever, he ran regional finance for five global brands, including Lipton, Dove and Lux, across the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, and twice received the Chairman’s Golden Path to Growth Award.

He has served on boards and audit committees in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. These include Bahrain Investment Wharf, which attracted USD 500 million in foreign investment; Tala Island Development Company, a USD 120 million waterfront project; REEF Real Estate Finance, Bahrain’s first Islamic real estate finance company; and Al Suwaidi Holding in Saudi Arabia, where he helped build the group’s audit and risk framework.

The Adventurer

What sets Mohamed apart is how he lives the lessons he teaches.

In May 2022, he reached Everest Base Camp at 5,364 meters. The trek changed the direction of his work. In January 2024 he began the Seven Summits Challenge, the highest peak on each continent, becoming the first Bahraini to stand on the summit of Mount Kosciuszko in Australia (2,228m) and then reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro in Africa (5,895m) in July 2024.

On 1 August 2025, two hours into the summit push on Mount Elbrus, Europe’s highest peak, he turned back. It was his own call, and the hardest he has made on a mountain. He brings that story to every leadership room, because the decision to stop, made in time and owned in full, is one most executives have never been taught to make.

The Scholar

Mohamed is a PhD candidate at Kathmandu University, in the country that holds Everest. His research, Leadership Under Extreme Conditions: The Case of Climbing Mount Everest, draws on interviews with mountain guides and Sherpas to examine how leaders decide under uncertainty and how teams hold together when conditions turn.

That research feeds the Peak Leadership Model, which he originated. It reads leadership as altitude across six camps, from self-awareness at Base Camp to legacy at the Summit, and shows why strength higher up never covers a gap lower down. Altitude does not create weakness. It exposes it.
